In today’s fast-paced world, children, like adults experience stress and anxiety. We at Kindred have developed a program with the primary goal of supporting children in building their confidence, resilience, and connection to self. We utilize movement and breathwork while also incorporating elements of play and art therapy. This approach helps children become more aware of their own responses, decrease reactivity, and foster a more balanced engagement with the world and themselves. Sessions are led by a Registered Social Worker/Children’s yoga teacher and maybe be covered by extended health benefits.

I’m Sarah, my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a practicing psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker with the British Columbia College of Social Workers. I graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2011. I later completed a Master of Social Work degree at Western University in 2018. My goal in the therapy room is to create a safe space that allows you to get to the root cause of your distress in order to move forward in life. I am often described as direct, but am committed to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental therapeutic environment.

Between my undergraduate and graduate degree, I spent time living and working overseas as a kindergarten teacher in Seoul, South Korea and in Hong Kong. Prior to moving back to Canada, I studied to become a certified meditation instructor in Rishikesh, India.

I am a firm believer and practitioner of client-centered and trauma informed care. Together, we can work towards bringing the parts of you that are seeking change in order to heal. I am comfortable sitting with clients who are working through difficult emotions, feelings and memories. I have experience in clinical neurosciences and have worked primarily in direct clinical psychiatric care. I specialise in supporting clients who feel held back by their past experiences or traumas. I have helped many clients over the years suffering from anxiety, panic, PTSD, depression, personality disorders, psychosis and phobias. I work collaboratively with clients from an EMDR therapy perspective along with an adjunct of mindfulness.

In my spare time, you can find me travelling, in the mountains, spending time with my partner or catching up on the latest Netflix documentaries.
